RK : First of all, thanks a lot for accepting our invitation for an interview. Please say something about you. About your career as a fashion model. How did you get started?
Twinkle : Thank you for this opportunity!
Everyone knows that I am a fashion model and influencer but when I tell them that I’m 19 years old and perusing my graduation side by side, they get shocked. I always wanted to be a model but at one time I was more than 80 kilos, still kept working towards my dream and never let it be a barrier between me and my dreams. I continued my fashion influencing thing on Instagram since a very long time and later decided to improve myself for my betterment. I switched to healthy diet/lifestyle and that resulted in me loosing around 22 kilos in no time. I would give this credit to my dedication, mental strength and positivity. This is when I started getting a few modeling projects along with the collaborations that I was doing as an influencer and now I’m working as a professional fashion model in this industry. This is pretty much of how I got started.
RK : What was your first big break in the industry ?
Twinkle : My first break was when I started working for SHEIN as their website model , everybody appreciated my shoots and even Shein started publishing those on their website before their International models.
I also worked for the renowned celebrity makeup artist MEENAKSHI DUTT as her model. I had received incredible response and that has been my favourite shoot till date.
RK : What do you enjoy most in modeling?
Twinkle : I enjoy giving life to someone’s idea by portraying the concept of it through my expressions and pose.
RK : How would you describe your personal style, Where do you pull your inspiration from?

RK : Sometimes the modeling industry gets a bad rapo with the jealousy and egos encountered between other models and agencies. Was this true for you? Have you managed to tough it out and make good friends?
Twinkle : I think I have been fortunate enough to meet like minded people and never encountered with anyone who’s tried to do anything wrong out of jealousy. I have many model friends who are very very supportive on everything I do, we believe in uplifting each other and growing together. After all, we are not each other’s competitor, but sisters. Moreover, I know that there are high chances of jealousy irrespective of the industry you’re in, one should always stay away from such negative things and focus on their work and themselves.
RK : What’s your beauty regime? Would you like to share some of your best beauty secrets?
Twinkle : I’m seriously obsessed with skincare, more than makeup I enjoy investing in good skincare because I believe we all have to be comfortable in our own skin first and makeup only remains a choice after that.
I do double cleansing, toning, hydrating and moisturizing my skin twice a day and never step out without a sunscreen. That’s a big No for me. I also try different sheet masks , face masks and scrubs on weekly basis.
RK : How do you stay in Shape?
Twinkle : As I have mentioned I was very fat before and I followed healthy or you can say vegan diet since the longest time and that is pretty much what I do to stay fit. I’m not a gym person. I prefer going out for walks and do some daily life activities.
RK : Do you have any Beauty/Skin Care tips or Tricks to look fresh and rested for early morning Photo shoot?
Twinkle : Early morning photoshoot can be some serious job! Tips that I follow when I have some morning shoots are:
Massage an ice cube on your face, it will increase blood flow and reduce puffy eyes.
Hydrate your skin and body well because it’s summer type and you don’t want to get dehydrated while shooting.
Keep eating something during shoot and don’t shoot with Empty stomach.
Keep eyepads with yourself and use a sheet mask in the morning , it will help your skin wake and feel better.
RK : What skills according to you are necessary to be a successful model ?
Twinkle : You need to know how to use the whole area, props or even the outfit for different poses and make it look best.
RK : What are the things you want to tell newbies before he/she become a model.
Twinkle : Practice ,experience and determination are the three things that newbies need to focus on. You don’t become successful overnight, learn from your failures and stay positive.
RK : If you could have one Superpower, what would you choose?
Twinkle : I’ll choose to shoot as much as I can and don’t get tired.
RK : We (Retro Kolkata) are trying to build one single stage for all the artists, because we believe that artists are the most beautiful creation of God and geographical boundary can never break their unity and harmony.
