Sanchi Rai is a model, actress. She is best known for her roles in 'Lopaliki Raa Cheptha' and 'Aaye Hum Barati Barat Lene' & 'Jeene ki Umeed Tumse Hi' in which she co-starred with Brajesh Rai. Apart from Glamour World, Sanchi Rai, the Social Media Icon, has achieved tremendous success on Social Media platforms such as Instagram and MX Takatak.

Retro Kolkata : First of all, thanks a lot for accepting our invitation for an interview. It's a great pleasure to have you as our Guest. Let’s start from the first question… Let’s have a jump into the past. What has been your dream since you were a kid? …what would you like to do?
Sanchi : Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity to connect with International Art Magazine.. Talking about my dream, since my childhood I always wanted to become a Superstar and a fabulous Actor. I would wave and imagine that everyone is watching me, clicking pictures and calling out my name “Sanchi Sanchi Sanchi” just like Deepika Padukone’s red carpet scene in ‘Om shanti Om’ and to be honest I still do the same.
I love my roller coaster life with adventures and can’t wait to see what my future holds.
Retro Kolkata : You have an exceptionally unique look. Where does your style savvy come from, and where do you get your inspiration?
Sanchi : Thank you for the compliment, I practice yoga and other exercises to keep myself fit and healthy, which also helps me maintain good shape.
Talking about my style, I’m just me, I love being myself and I reflect the same through my style, really chill, apart from that I love wearing sarees as I believe Indian wear truly brings out beauty and looks graceful. My inspiration comes from my mom who was herself really stylish in her college days and keeps guiding me as well.
Retro Kolkata : You are the girl who fuelled her dreams to make it a reality! An inspiration to all the common girls who dream of being a queen! The most prominent face of Social Media today. How do you get involved with your followers and find the best way to give them the content they want?
Sanchi : My Instagram family means so much to me, I always try to fulfil their wishes, read comments, DMs etc and try to incorporate them and deliver the same through my content.
They love seeing me in Sarees, so I try my best to wear sarees in my reels.
Retro Kolkata : You acted in Sanjib Jaiswal’s ‘Fareb’, Vishal Verma’s ‘Aye Hum Barati Barat Leke’ and have earned a lot of critical acclaim for your performances. What is that specific moment in your life which lit the spark in you to become an Actor?
Sanchi : Talking about ‘Fareb’, I absolutely love the songs and Sanjib sir’s cinematography in the film, the Retro look, Style and dialogues, it’s so mind blowing! Personally, I love films and songs from the 80’s & 90’s because they have a classic way to express everything, I still prefer old films and music, those days actors had their own style and their talent was unmatched. I want to be like one of the icons and that’s why, I work hard and give my 100%.
Retro Kolkata : What do you enjoy most in acting?
Sanchi : Characters!
I love to play different kinds of role and characters, I would like to play meaningful and challenging roles. That gives me motivation to grow more.
Retro Kolkata : What has been your favourite shoot / campaign / work to date?
Sanchi : I am currently working on an International project which is based on slaves, at this point I cannot discuss further but it is definitely new and something I have never done before. However, there’s a second favorite character – ZOYA, from my unreleased film ‘zoya’ which is based on Triple talaq, it’s full of emotions and portrays a strong woman.
Retro Kolkata : What’s your beauty regime? Would you like to share some of your best beauty secrets?
Sanchi : Be Happy from Inside….there is no beauty secret. When you are happy from inside your face automatically glows. Yoga and drinking plenty of water also helps.
Retro Kolkata : How do you stay in Shape?
Sanchi : Again, My answer is Yoga, It really helps me stay fit and healthy, both physically and mentally. Yoga is the perfect way to find yourself in every way.
Retro Kolkata : Do you have a skin care routine?
Sanchi : I can’t say I have a routine ….But yes I take care of few things such as I avoid using makeup when not required, keeping my face clean and moisturized at all times, drink plenty of water.
Retro Kolkata : What are the three essential elements of fashion that every girl should have?
Sanchi : You should know your body type and dress up with what makes you feel comfortable, one of the first things people will notice about you is the colours you are wearing, It has the power to affect your mood, make you look great, make you look tired or make you stand out and lastly but most importantly just be yourself.
Retro Kolkata : If you had to name one thing, what would be your favourite thing in your wardrobe right now?
Sanchi : I really like to dress casual and comfortable, and therefore my favourite thing in my wardrobe is Spaghetti and shorts.
Retro Kolkata : What have been the greatest challenges you’ve faced in your career so far and as per your opinion?
Sanchi : In the beginning of my career, I used to get so many fake mails that it was really hard for me to take decisions, pick and choose wisely as you know there are people out there to take advantage of you and your vulnerability…so it was a real challenge in the beginning, but I learned with time.
Retro Kolkata : Give us 5 fun facts people might not know about you yet.
Sanchi : 1. I’m really afraid of snakes or any creepy crawlies but I want to overcome that fear someday
2- I love to explore and try new things, eg : new types of cuisines, food.
3- I’m little short tempered but I am working on it.
4- I’m a really good swimmer.
5- I really believe that everything happens for a reason even if it’s not in our favour.
