Sagar Gosavi, a professional natural history photographer, writer, and documentary filmmaker, has been recognized for his exceptional contributions to photography. Biography:
Sagar Gosavi, formerly an IT professional, transitioned into natural history photography, driven by his childhood passion for birds and birdwatching. Documenting Indian natural history for over two decades, he has specialized in the geographies of Arunachal Pradesh and the Trans Himalayas, photographing over 800 species of birds, including many rare ones found in India's most remote areas.
He has led over 600 photo tours, workshops, and expeditions, mentoring more than 800 photographers. His belief that "Knowledge gets its true meaning only when shared, and Inspiration gets its true meaning only when passed on" has inspired many to pursue photography as a career.
Gosavi's notable achievements include photographing the elusive Snow Leopard at 15800 ft in the Trans Himalayas, leading specialized Snow Leopard Photography Expeditions for nine years. Through SGP Ventures (www.sgpventures.in), he organizes expeditions and photo tours designed for photographers to learn, explore, and experience wildlife.
Gosavi's work has been featured in national and international publications, earning him numerous awards. He has served as a judge for several national photography competitions, including the All India Corporate Photography Competition.
