With time, I came to understand the importance of traveling and how effectively it improves mental wellness. I slowly wanted to start encouraging people to travel, but soon discovered that it isn't that simple for everyone. People are dependent on others and don't know how to travel independently, so I took the opportunity to provide them with the knowledge they need to organize their own trips and create the best possible memories.

Retro Kolkata : First of all, thanks a lot for accepting our invitation for an interview. It's a great pleasure to have you as our Guest. Let’s start from the first question… Let's jump into the past. How did you get started with traveling? What inspired you to start travelling? Sanskriti : As an adult, traveling was an escape from the challenging times of my life; only to discover how small my problems are in comparison to what is out there. Slowly traveling became my therapy and it healed me in a way I couldn’t imagine. Every day, I am inspired by the young me who desires to travel the world.

Retro Kolkata :How did you decide to become a travel blogger & content creator?

Sanskriti : With time, I came to understand the importance of traveling and how effectively it improves mental wellness. I slowly wanted to start encouraging people to travel, but soon discovered that it isn't that simple for everyone. People are dependent on others and don't know how to travel independently, so I took the opportunity to provide them with the knowledge they need to organize their own trips and create the best possible memories.

Retro Kolkata :What are some of your favourite places you’ve visited?

Sanskriti : Some of my favourite places come from Rajasthan, I think I will never get tired of Jaipur and Udaipur in India. Then comes the mountains, the Himalayas and the Western Ghats.

Retro Kolkata :How do you fund your travel (savings/work whilst travelling/other)?

Sanskriti : My job as a corporate trainer has so far helped me pay for my travel expenses. I've been able to balance the two, thanks to Work from anywhere (WFH). I do paid collaborations and also reach out to hotels, brands, etc for a stay in return for deliverables which will help build their social media account as well as mine.

Retro Kolkata : Have you ever travelled solo, was it what you expected? Sanskriti : Yes, I travelled to Dubai solo and explored some of the places all by myself. Even if my research was thorough, I was out of my shell and had a lot of anxiety about being in a foreign country. A woman imagines the worst-case scenarios while traveling and it's wise to be prepared for such things. Luckily, I had a very great experience as a solo traveller as UAE is pretty safe for female travellers and it helped me gain a ton of confidence.

Retro Kolkata :Have you been anywhere which turned out to be totally different to how you imagined? If so, how?

Sanskriti : Oh yes, my father served in Air Force and as a child, I lived in Rajasthan when he was posted there. Rajasthan was always just a place of sand in my mind, but after visiting and discovering it as an adult, my perception was altered, and Rajasthan quickly became one of my favourite places. Rajasthan has a lot to offer, including historical heritage, cultural diversity, and stunning landscapes. Rajasthan's world-famous cuisine captures the richness of traditional Rajputana delicacies prepared in royal kitchens. Retro Kolkata : What destination(s) would you recommend to first-time travellers?

Sanskriti : Rishikesh, Manali, Jaipur, Kerala, and Goa would be perfect to make first-time travellers fall in love with traveling.

Retro Kolkata :Tell us about one of your most memorable adventures, and the impact it had on you.

Sanskriti : There are two actually and both of them were equally memorable. Paragliding in Bir-Billing; I literally cried for a moment out of happiness when I was in the sky because I am very scared of heights. The second one is the World's longest Zipline in UAE and I was blown away by the adrenaline rush it gave me. I can now say I am not scared of heights, in fact, I am considering becoming a Paragliding pilot.

Retro Kolkata :How has travel changed who you are? What has travel taught you?

Sanskriti : Traveling helped me learn about myself, my comfort levels, boundaries, things I want to achieve, and how happy it makes me be in a completely different place with strangers. I feel empowered and have a sense of accomplishment every time I am able to figure out something in a new city. And I learned how to utilize time and resources to create the things that I want.

Retro Kolkata :Where is your favourite place in the world? Do you have a bucket list? If so, what is on it?

Sanskriti : Currently, Paris is my favourite location. I've been there once, but it wasn't enough to fulfill my heart. And my bucket list is pretty huge; you should see the pinned locations on my Google maps. On top of it, I have Iceland, Indonesia and UK.

Retro Kolkata :Blogging is increasingly becoming competitive. Do you think it will be a good choice for newbies to opt for travel blogging in 2022 and further?

Sanskriti : I am absolutely positive it will never get old and newbies will always have the opportunity to take it to different levels. People are constantly looking for unfiltered, fresh information. Simple example: When searching for videos on YouTube, we tend to choose the most recent ones.

Sanskriti : The reasons would definitely be: 1. Being myself 2. Focusing on providing valuable and quality content 3. Interacting with my community and understanding them well 4. Being consistent and 5. Not taking things for granted

Retro Kolkata :Do you have any advice or tips for aspiring travellers?

Sanskriti : If you are passionate about something, give it your everything. Fail, but do not give up. Like they say "Rome wasn't built in a day"
